The Highland Village Fire Department conducts monthly CPR and AED training programs for our residents and residents in neighboring communities. These are CPR/AED only and not First Aid classes. To date, we have reached our goal of providing over 400 residents with valuable CPR and AED training skills.
All classes are taught by the Highland Village firefighters who are certified by the American Heart Association as instructors for the Heartsaver CPR AED Course.
Classes are held the third Wednesday of each month from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Fire Department Emergency Operations Center. Cost is $40 for residents of Highland Village and $50 for non-residents to attend the CPR class. Payment is made at the time of the class and can be paid by cash, check or credit card. Certification cards are mailed to participants after the class.
Register online or call Fire Department's Administrative Offices (972) 317-0890 for more information or to sign up.
*Classes can be rescheduled in the event of insufficient registrants.
Courses taught at the Fire Department are American Heart Association-based modules designed to educate all ages and groups in the proper method of assisting someone in cardiac arrest; however, they are not Health Care Provider CPR courses or First Aid courses.
Courses for physicians, nurses and other health care providers are offered in the area. For a complete listing of Health Care Provider approved CPR courses in your area please visit the American Heart Association website or email the Fire Department to obtain contact information for a local instructor.
