Wishing You and Yours a Happy, Healthy Thanksgiving

Posted on November 23, 2016 at 9:34 AM by Crystal Babcock

Happy Thanksgiving!Happy Thanksgiving, I hope each and every one of you has the opportunity to enjoy time with your family and friends. As we approach this holiday season and near the end of 2016 we begin to ponder, “What’s next?” New Year’s resolutions! I can almost guarantee each and every one of us has resolved to get in better shape, to lose a few pounds. Consider this, we have just finished our Thanksgiving meal or just watched our favorite team win (or go down in a ball of flames) so what do we do next? Let’s go outside this beautiful fall holiday season for a walk!

Highland Village has constructed over 12 miles of multi-use trails. Additionally, we have approximately 14 miles of HOA trails, paths, and sidewalks along with 12 miles of primitive/natural walking paths extending through wooded preservation areas and along the public shoreline of Lewisville Lake. When it’s all said and done we’ll have a 30 mile network of trails, paths, and walkways within Highland Village. You and your family can walk to the park, a local restaurant, or to do a little shopping.

So for that adventurous person or family, take your car to Doubletree Ranch Park and start your walking adventure. By the time you go under FM 2499 in the Pedestrian Tunnel and come to the Castlewood Activity Center you have completed a nice five mile walk across Highland Village. Here is our City Maps Page, and more specifically the Highland Village Trails Map.

Happy Thanksgiving and let’s walk more in 2017!
