Available Part Time Positions

Part time $9.75 Hourly
Under direct supervision, the purpose of this position is to provide customer service at the tollgates at Pilot Knoll and Copperas Branch Park.  Employees in this class collect fees for day use, pavilion rentals, and annual passes; take reservations for overnight camping (Pilot Knoll); and enforce the rules and regulations of the park. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED; supplemented by to two (2) years of previous experience and/or training in customer service and/or routine cash handling functions; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Part time, Seasonal: $13.00 Hourly
Under direct supervision of the Parks Supervisor, the purpose of the position is to perform grounds maintenance work for the city. Employees in this class exercise appropriate safety precautions in operating assigned equipment to ensure personal, public, and personnel safety. Position is responsible for assisting with various grounds care tasks, including establishing and maintaining cleanliness, order, and aesthetic appearance of assigned areas. Incumbent works independently or as part of a work crew, depending on nature of assigned tasks. Performs related work as directed. Minimum QualificationsPrevious experience that demonstrates ability to fulfill the physical requirements of the essential functions; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Texas driver’s license with good driving record required.

Part Time: $12.50 Hourly
Under general supervision, incumbents in this position perform a variety of duties in providing support to the users of the Robert Lee DuVall Center.  This includes opening and closing the facility to renters; answering questions and resolving problems during events; performing some light janitorial duties; monitoring building capacities; ensuring activities are in compliance with the Center rules and regulations; following City of Highland Village policies in the event of an emergency or security problem; and ensuring renters fulfill responsibilities.  Successful candidate must be able to work variable hours, including mornings, late evenings and weekends. Minimum Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years or older.  Must have knowledge of materials and equipment used in public facilities (examples: custodial products, commercial furniture, microphones, CD player, movie screen set up) and have previous experience and/or training working with the public; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Temporary, Seasonal, Part Time: $12.00 Hourly
Under general supervision, the purpose of the position is to ensure the safety and welfare of children when crossing roadways at designated school crossing sites. Performs related work as required. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED preferred supplemented by little or no previous experience or training; with a level of maturity and judgment that demonstrates the ability to provide safe crossing for school age children; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
