Assistant Fire Chief Jason Collier joined the Department in January of 2008, as the first full-time Assistant Fire Chief. He acts as the City's Fire Marshal and is responsible for the Support Division. Chief Collier served as the Lake Cities Fire Chief for nine years before coming to Highland Village Fire Department. He began his career with the Allen Fire Department and has over 30 years of experience in the fire service. He holds an Associate's Degree in Fire Science from Collin College and certifications as a Master Firefighter, Arson Investigator, Fire Inspector, and Fire Instructor. He is a Certified Fire Officer IV and graduate of the Texas Fire Chief's Academy. Additionally, he has completed the Fire Service Chief Executive Officer Program and is cross-trained as a police officer as well as an EMT. He serves on the Texas Commission on Fire Protection Firefighter Advisory Board.
Assistant Fire Chief Travis Nokes studied Physical Education at Missouri Valley College before beginning his career with the Highland Village Fire Department in August of 2000. He is responsible for EMS Operations as well as training for both Fire and EMS. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Fire Administration and is designated as a Certified Fire Executive through the Texas Fire Chief's Association. Other certifications include Master Firefighter, Fire Officer II, Instructor II, Intermediate Wildland Firefighter, and he is also a Licensed Paramedic.
